Common questions
How do I delete my account?
Open the App, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, dogs, walks, posts, comments, kudos, friend connections, push token, and uploaded photos. It is permanent. If you can't sign in, see how to request account deletion.
How do I report a user or post?
Tap the overflow menu (⋯) on any post, walk, story, comment, or profile, then choose Report and pick a reason. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. You can also email [email protected] to escalate.
How do I block someone?
Open the user's profile, tap the overflow menu, and choose Block. Blocking is mutual — neither of you can see the other's content after a block. Manage your blocklist at Settings → Blocked users.
Why isn't my walk recording when my phone is locked?
Background walk tracking needs the Always location permission. On iOS, open Settings → Miso → Location and choose Always. On Android, open Settings → Apps → Miso → Permissions → Location and choose Allow all the time.
How do I add friends?
Open the Friends tab, then Find friends. Miso matches contacts who already use the app. Raw phone numbers and emails stay on your device — we only query hashes.
How are calories calculated?
We use a MET-based estimate from your weight and walk duration. Set your weight in Profile → Edit profile for a closer estimate. Calorie figures are approximate and should not be used for clinical decisions.
How do I export my data?
Open Settings → Your data → Request my data. We email you a copy of your profile, dogs, walks, posts, comments, and challenge data.
How does Miso use Apple Health?
With your permission, Miso reads steps, walking and running distance, and heart rate samples during your walks to display alongside your activity. You can revoke access any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Miso.
